Micropsi Industries is proud to announce that MIRAI, our advanced AI-vision software, has been honored with the 2024 VSD Innovators Award by Vision Systems Design Magazine. This recognition highlights MIRAI's significant contribution to the advancement of machine vision, a fundamental technology in the manufacturing sector.
The 2024 VSD Innovators Awards honor outstanding innovation in machine vision for the engineering industry. A qualified panel of judges selected by the magazine's editorial staff selected MIRAI as the Silver winner in the Vision Systems category. The awards were presented yesterday at the Automate Show in Chicago.
The award recognizes MIRAI's groundbreaking impact on robotic automation. MIRAI enhances the functionality of robots, enabling them to perform diverse tasks with precision despite variance in position, shape, color, lighting, or background. This capability is critical in addressing and solving automation challenges, particularly in applications such as cable insertion, pick-and-place, and end-of-line testing.
"Our customers value MIRAI's ability to automate variance-heavy tasks using real factory data without the need for CAD data, controlled lighting, visual feature predefinition or extensive computer vision knowledge," said our CEO Gary Jackson.
"Our original MIRAI software, as well as our newly released generation, MIRAI 2, provides faster deployment and scalability for companies that need to automate difficult-to-automate tasks with high reliability and scalability as they grow their robot fleets,” said Gary.
Numerous manufacturers have successfully deployed MIRAI to automate applications that are typically difficult, expensive, or impossible to automate with traditional programming. Recent examples include leading automotive OEMs using MIRAI software to automate bolt torquing despite variable bolt positions, unstable lighting conditions, and unreliable part quality.
In March, we presented MIRAI 2, the new generation of our AI-vision software, which is even more powerful. MIRAI 2 offers customers improved reliability thanks to a new automated way to collect training data; the ability to detect unexpected workspace situations; and the ability to run the software on the highest industry-standard PCs, resulting in greater reliability in harsh factory conditions. MIRAI 2 is easier and faster to train and deploy. In addition, MIRAI skills—trained guidelines that tell robots how to behave when performing a desired action—can now be easily and quickly shared across a fleet of robots.
We look forward to demonstrating MIRAI and MIRAI 2's revolutionary abilities at Automate 2024 in Chicago this week (May 6–9, 2024). Visit us at our booth #2940.
